Niamh Connolly is a busy Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Dungarvan Co. Waterford. Following a BA in Psychology & MA in Counselling Psychology, Niamh completed a 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in CBT in 2011, and practiced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in High Street Medical Centre until 2017, when she moved to a more spacious premises at 22 Grattan Square.

As a result of a growing waiting list in her private practice, along with a rising interest in, and appetite for, CBT, Niamh knew something new was needed. So, in 2017 she established ‘The Mind Gym’ where she has developed a series of workshops and seminars based on the scientifically proven CBT protocols she uses in her client work, but can now reach a far wider audience. In ‘The Mind Gym’ you will learn how to overcome a variety of issues and challenges, helping you to reach optimal mental fitness.

In an informative, but informal style, Niamh will help you understand how certain thinking patterns, and the associated behaviours, can affect different areas of our lives – both personal and professional. Issues such as stress, perfectionism, and having to deal with negative people are all common today, and Niamh demonstrates the clinically proven skills and techniques to help identify and overcome these issues.

Mental and physical health are two sides of the same coin – you can be in your best physical shape, but if your head is not in the right place, you won’t reach your full potential, and vice versa.

Niamh’s aim is to demystify these mental struggles, and teach easy to use strategies that both identify the issues relevant to you, and improve your mindset. As she says "our mind is our most important muscle" and she wants to share the best exercises to keep it fit and healthy!
